  • Printing with Leaves,

  • Natural Dyes

  • Shibori Techniques

  • Stitch Embellishment

  • Bookmaking

Beginning with the principles of Eco Printing, using silk, cotton, other natural fibres, and specialist papers, the student will explore techniques to develop complex, multilayered fabric and paper.

This workshop will enable participants to print on fabric using leaves, other plant materials and mordants – a process called Eco Printing. These prints are brilliant in terms of colour and are light fast.  The workshop will also encourage the student to combine printing with other natural dyeing techniques and will act as a good introduction to the potential offered by using natural raw materials.   Each student will also have a chance to use these skills on different weights and types of paper, and also vegan leather. The subsequent cloth and paper will be used for bookmaking, and/or stitch embellishment.
